So, it’s been a few weeks since I’ve written a post. During that time, I’ve had a chance to meet with the people at Taza (whose chocolate I use for cookies and croissants), talk to a few marketing folks, and generally begin to work at drumming up business.
It’s been a curious thing. Once you start on a path you’re not really sure where it’s going to go. In mid-April, when I was getting going, Yelp got in touch to see if I wanted to pay for advertising. After some back and forth, I acquiesced and started to work with them. Since that time, there have been quite a few visits to the site, not to mention people trying to find our location.
This is wonderful! It’s great that people hear about us and want to go to a bakery and try our food. However, it gets a little difficult when people realize that the map they are looking at leads them to a residential neighborhood in which there is clearly no bakery. What do you do?
At the current moment the easiest way to get Fat Boyfriend Bakery is to get in touch via text, phone call, or email. Starting in June you can also check out our tent at the Everett Farmer’s Market, and the Waltham Farmer’s Market. It would be an amazing opportunity for Fat Boyfriend Bakery to help you out with your next _____________ (insert get together here)! The whole reason for starting the Bakery was to bring people together through sweet, baked goods.
Persistence is paying off too. We’ll be on Foodler soon, so you can order through them. Not to mention, possible collaborations with a few other companies. Truly though, if you’re going to be looking for a bakery on Yelp in the Malden area, then please consider Fat Boyfriend Bakery. Just know that we don’t quite have a store front…. yet.
In the mean time, to hold you over and remind you of our chocolate chip cookie offerings, here is an artistic picture.
